Cards for Dad

Father's Day is right around the corner, which is the perfect time to make some cards for dad. Today I have a set of 3 to share.

These cards were really easy to put together with just a few papers and stickers from Paper House.

For paper I used: #1 Dad Tags and Wood and Stars

For embellishments I used: Dad Family Scrapbook Stickers and Dad Mixed Pack Scrapbook Stickers

Additionally I used some white card stock (for the card base) and some Glue Dots® adhesive. That's all you need for these simple cards.

While I made these with Father's Day in mind, they'd work just as well for a birthday card.

I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day celebrating any of  the special guys in your life.

Graduation Party Layout

It’s the season for graduations and grad parties, so today I have a graduation party layout to share.

Our school doesn’t hold an 8th grade graduation, but every year the parents throw a graduation party for the 8th graders. It was a really fun night full of food, games, and dancing.

For this layout I used the following graduation papers from Paper House: Graduation TagsStars and Stripes

And a mix of these party and grad stickers from Paper House: Graduation Puffy StickersSchool Dance 3D

Faith Cards

I needed a card for a confirmation that's coming up. Instead of making just the confirmation card, I thought I'd make a set of Faith Cards with Paper House Goldmine & Coco Faith Bible Journaling Kit.

To make cards from the Faith Bible Jounaling Kit, the only additional supplies you'll need are some coordinating inks, some adhesive, and some white card stock.

Start by cutting 4 card bases (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/2" to create a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded card base).

For the above card, you'll need to cut an additional 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and a 2" x 3 1/2" piece of vellum.

For the above card, you'll need to cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of patterned paper, a 3" x  4 1/4" piece of white card stock, and a 2 3/4" x 4" piece of patterned paper.

For the above card, you'll need to cut an additional 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and a 5 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece of vellum.

For the above card, you'll need to cut an additional 3 3/4" x 4 1/2" piece of white card stock and a 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of patterned paper.

Use adhesive to add your layers to your card bases. For the vellum layers, I like to place adhesive behind the metallic accents on the vellum or behind where clusters of embellishments will be (the embellishments will hide the adhesive).

Stamp your sentiments (I used stamped sentiments on 2 of the 4 cards).

Finally, finish up your cards by adding stickers and die cuts.

This is a really lovely Bible journaling kit, but as you can see, it also works great for some faith based encouragement cards.

Winter Wonderland Layout

It might be March, but we're still vacationing where there's lots of snow. We had a quick weekend getaway to the Black Hills, so today I have a Winter Wonderland Layout to share.

For these pictures I used a mix of Paper House's Winter collection and their Colorways collection.  The orange in the Winter Snowflake paper is a perfect match to the orange in colorways, so they were easy to use together.

For embellishments, I used tags cut from the Winter collection paper and some puffy snowflake stickers.

Night Layouts

I always like exploring a town at night.  Today I have 2 simple night layouts featuring night time photos I took on our trip to Berlin.

This layout uses Paper House Stargazer collection.

Stargazer is always a great choice for nighttime layouts since the theme is the cosmos and there are rich purples and blues all throughout the collection. I also love the pops of gold foiling. It really makes the layouts pop.

This second nighttime layout uses the Sugary Gal paper crafting kit form Paper House. This area is a memorial, so I found that the flowers give a bit more of a memorial/respectful feel to the layout.

School Picture Layout

I have one more Paper House ColorWays layout to share (for the time being at least). Today, I have a School Picture layout.

I actually started with Paper House's High School 3D stickers and tried to pick papers based on the stickers. The stickers that I wanted to use primarily had red and green on them, so I chose red and green ColorWays papers. To keep the layout from looking Christmasy I then added some of the blue papers from ColorWays.

My oldest is a Freshman this year. We don't take school pics to seriously, but it still turned out pretty nicely.

Party Layout

So many of my scrapbook layouts are about my kiddos. This party layout is all about the adults this time.

We live in a really great neighborhood. We have hoodfest every year that includes a cook off and usually a fun theme. This year's theme was the 80's. As you can see, my husband and I went a little more rocker punk for the 80's. We also live in the same neighborhood as my brother-in-law and sister-in-law (who are usually front and center in the planning of hoodfest). The made a pretty good Ferris Bueller and pop girl.

I used Paper House ColorWays collection for my layout. I grabbed prints in red an black to match my and my husband's outfits. I also added some music themed 3D stickers (also from Paper House).

Colorways Basketball Layout

As you can probably tell from my last few projects, I've really been enjoying the new Paper House ColorWays collection. Today I have have another sports layout to share. Here's my Colorways Basketball Layout.

Long story short, our school has 2 mascots. One of them is the Rockets, and their colors are orange and black. It's really hard to scrap in those school colors without it looking like a Halloween layout. I am so excited to have some fun new options with Paper House ColorWays.

I used a mix of flat and 3D basketball stickers also from Paper House to embellish the layout. They're a fun mix of textures as they have silver foiling, enamel, and glitter.

I seem to run out of time before I run out of ideas with Colorways. I'm really loving all the possibilites with this collection.

Colorways Football Layout

I have another layout to share with Paper House ColorWays collection. Here is my Colorways Football layout.

I don't know why I didn't think of scrapping sports photos sooner with Colorways. All these gorgeous, solid color prints are perfect for matching school colors. While I like scrapping with the traditional sports themed papers, it's fun to use some of these more neutral patterns. It really freshens up your layouts when it feels like you're scrapping your 100th sports photo.

Since Paper House has so many great stickers, it wasn't hard to fins some coordinating embellishments. I kept it simple with a few 3D football stickers and a few journaling tags from Colorways.

I love this photo so much! So thankful my photographer Sister-in-law was there to capture it.

Harry Potter Pocket Pages

I don't always scrap in order...way back in 2017 we took a family trip to California. I've finally just started scrapping the trip. Here are my first completed Harry Potter pocket pages from that trip.

I finally started on the album, because Paper House came out with these gorgeous new Harry Potter papers and stickers.  I couldn't pass up using them to scrap our photos from our visit to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios.

I especially love the coordinating 3D stickers.

I've used the flat card stock stickers before in my planner, but I loved getting to use them in this mini album.

For occasions like this, sometimes I like to create a 6 x 8 pocket page mini album. I find that I can scrap a lot of photos and tell the story of the trip or event more quickly.

We did a lot on this trip...so now I've got lots of other California attractions to scrap to fill up this album!

Pop Up Gift Card Holder

It's the season for giving! Whenever I give a gift card or cash gift, I like to find a way to make it a bit special. This years gift cards and money gifts are coming in the form of these pop up gift card holders.

These cards are from a file you can cut with your Silhouette (340361 Hexagon Pop Up Gift Card). The fun comes in customizing them with whatever papers and embellishments you like.

As you can see in the photo above, the card can be folded flat so it fits easily in an envelope.

To create this card, I chose a mix of patterned paper and embellishments from Paper House's new Christmas collection. The patterned papers are called Dear Santa and Merry and Bright. I used some flat holographic star stickers from Christmas Joy Mini Stickers, and the greeting is from Merry Sculpted Puffy Stickers.

It takes a bit of time to assemble the card, but it pays off big with a super fun way to gift cash gifts.

Colorways Anniversary Layout

Today I have another layout to share with Paper House ColorWays collection. This one is an anniversary layout.

I think the green and blue papers in the ColorWays collection are my favorite. They are just so rich and I cannot wait to use them in all the projects.

For embellishments on this layout I used some of Paper House's new clear Scrapbooking Stickers. I've had them sitting on my desk for a few weeks, but this is the first time I've tried them. They are thick and so easy to work with. The quality of them has made them my new favorite clear sticker to work with.

With this layout completed, I am now caught up on our anniversary scrapbook. I love seeing how we've changed and the adventures we've had through the years!

Autumn Birthday Card

My grandpa’s birthday is at the end of November, so today I’m sharing the autumn birthday card I created for him.

For the papers I used Autumn Woods from Paper House. This is one of my all time favorite fall collections. I love the pops of blue, and the pretty plaids included in this collection. I also added some coordinating 3D leaf stickers from Paper House. They have gold foiling all over them and really up the wow factor of the card.

The Happy Birthday was a gold rub-on I had in my stash. It was a little bit faster than stamping a greeting, but that would work just as well on the rustic wood grain paper.

ColorWays Layout

Paper House has a brand new collection! Today I want to share my very first ColorWays Layout.

The new ColorWays collection is 30 double sided sheets of paper. They come in a rainbow of colors. Most of the papers are a single color pattern, but a few contain a rainbow of journaling tags.

I'm really loving the ability to mix and match to get just the right colors for my photos. I'd been waiting for the right papers for these Germany photos, but the red table made the photos clash with lots of papers that I tried. Being able to use a grey background with pops of coordinating red and yellow worked out perfectly.

I embellished with just a few Paper House Germany 3D stickers and a Paper House hot dog faux enamel sticker.
