Sugary Gal Mini Album

I have one more project with the new crafting kit from Paper House and Sugary Gal. This one's a little different. It's a Sugary Gal mini album.

It's for my niece who loves photo books about our family, so I kept it on the simple side so it can be handled a lot without it falling to pieces.

I primarily stuck to die cuts and stickers from the kit for embellishments.

The book itself measures 5"x7" and the photos are about 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".

I made the story for the book by printing it on 90lb white card stock and cutting it into strips.

The papers in the Paper House Sugary Gal kit are seriously gorgeous. Really beautiful colors and foiling on many of the papers. It's nice, thick paper, too, so the pages don't need any type of reinforcing to hold up to use.

I bound everything together with my We R Memory Keepers Cinch.

This Sugary Gal mini album is now all packaged up and on it's way to my niece (she lives pretty far away from us).

You Are Loved Layout

This week I have another layout with the new crafting kit from Paper House and Sugary Gal. This You are Loved layout really leans into the flowery, purple, girly aspects of this fabulous kit.

This photo of my niece is a few years old, but I just took it out of the frame it was in and put it into my "to be scrapped" pile when my new paper crafting kit came. Not only is the blue in the kit a perfect match to the color of her dress, the flower theme goes so well with the flower crown she's wearing.

Besides the double sided patterned papers, I used a mix of die cuts, 3D stickers, and card stock stickers. All of which come from the kit.

You can find the travel layout I made with this kit by clicking here, and I'll be back next week with a mini album made from the Sugary Gal paper crafting kit.

It's 100 Days Until Christmas

Do you know what today is? It's 100 days until Christmas. Today I thought it would be fun to show you how I start organizing for the holidays (including Halloween and Thanksgiving) starting 100 days before Christmas. This is a pretty photo heavy post, and I'll walk you through the binder as you go through the photos.

I always put all the papers and lists I need in a binder. This year I decided to up my game. I decorated my binder with Paper House's new Christmas collection

For the first time I've added tabs. This is really going to help keep everything organized year to year.

I added little decorations from Paper House to each of the dividers. I used all flat papers and stickers as embellishments to hopefully keep everything more durable.

Halloween and Thanksgiving each get one tab, and the rest are for all the Christmas prep.

Organizing like this helps keep the season fun and full instead of hectic and stressful.

In the past, I've used free printable lists I've found on line for organizing. This year I took the time to make my own lists and customize them exactly how I want.

It was a lot of work this year, but in the future I can just print them out every year, and make any adjustments to the forms easily.

Here's the list of all the tabs I have in order: Master Lists, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Cookies and Candy, Christmas Movies, Christmas Activities, Party Plan, Handmade Holidays, Wish Lists, Gift Lists, Packing Lists, Recipes

It makes me so happy to have this tailored to my needs.

And it's pretty now, too!

How do you prepare for the holidays?

Making Memories Scrapbooking Layout

Paper House and Sugary Gal have a new crafting kit. I just got my hands on it last week, and it's super pretty. I've had the chance to make a couple of layouts and am working on a mini album that I'll share soon. Today I have a making memories scrapbooking layout to share.

This kit contains patterned papers, stickers, die cuts, and washi tape. And since it's from Paper House, you know you don't just get one kind of sticker; you get card stock stickers, 3D stickers, and clear stickers. Everything also has the prettiest touches of gold foiling, too.

The themes in this kit are fairly girly. Super easy to use for female friendships, girl layouts, and the like. I wanted to show that this kit also works great in other situations. This is an international travel layout. The purples and blues were a perfect way to frame our sunny day river cruise photos.

I'm really loving this kit, and will have another project featuring it next week.

Happy Campers Scrapbooking Layout

We're into September which means a new kit from Scrapbooking Store. So far I've created 3 layouts with this month's kit. Today I have this Happy Campers scrapbooking layout to share.

This month's kit is again filled with papers exclusively for Scrapbooking Store, while the included sticker sheet and upgraded embellishment kit are a mix from outside companies.

September's kit caters more towards the rustic fun of summer; campfires, bonfires, camping, hiking, and getting out in the great outdoors.

Even if you're not much of a camper and hiker, you'll still love these paper. The "b" sides are filled with lots of lovely plaids, chevrons, and spotty patterns that are great for all sorts of pages (especially masculine ones).

You can always find more inspiration using September's kit from me and lots of other talented designers on Scrapbooking Store's Facebook page

Card Kit Layout

Paper House does a lot of really great collaborations with designers. Recently they've teamed up (again) with Mommy Lhey to create a really fun card making kit. I absolutely plan on making a bunch of cards with it, but because my brain is a bit goofy sometimes, they first thing I thought about making with this card kit was a layout.

I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you about the card kit first. It includes 5" x 7" pre-folded patterned card bases, layering sheets, envelopes, die cuts, stickers, foam adhesive, and even a stamp set. It's full of bright colors and whimsical patterns. Some of the die cuts and papers even have gold foiling on them.

For this layout, I used my own piece of white card stock, bu everything else was from the kit. I layered card bases and layering cards to create the background pattern and embellished with die cuts and stickers.

A few weeks ago one of my sons and I went to spend a few days with my parents for a quick end of summer trip. My mom recently got a cotton candy machine, so we just had to try it out.
