Faith Cards

I needed a card for a confirmation that's coming up. Instead of making just the confirmation card, I thought I'd make a set of Faith Cards with Paper House Goldmine & Coco Faith Bible Journaling Kit.

To make cards from the Faith Bible Jounaling Kit, the only additional supplies you'll need are some coordinating inks, some adhesive, and some white card stock.

Start by cutting 4 card bases (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/2" to create a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded card base).

For the above card, you'll need to cut an additional 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and a 2" x 3 1/2" piece of vellum.

For the above card, you'll need to cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of patterned paper, a 3" x  4 1/4" piece of white card stock, and a 2 3/4" x 4" piece of patterned paper.

For the above card, you'll need to cut an additional 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and a 5 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece of vellum.

For the above card, you'll need to cut an additional 3 3/4" x 4 1/2" piece of white card stock and a 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of patterned paper.

Use adhesive to add your layers to your card bases. For the vellum layers, I like to place adhesive behind the metallic accents on the vellum or behind where clusters of embellishments will be (the embellishments will hide the adhesive).

Stamp your sentiments (I used stamped sentiments on 2 of the 4 cards).

Finally, finish up your cards by adding stickers and die cuts.

This is a really lovely Bible journaling kit, but as you can see, it also works great for some faith based encouragement cards.

Fun in the Sun Scrapbooking Layout

It's May which means a new kit from Scrapbooking Store. This month we're heading to the beach starting with this Fun in the Sun scrapbooking layout.

This month's kit features Simple Vintage Coastal from Simple Stories. This is a soft, muted beach collection that has muted pinks, blues, browns, and greens found throughout. Since it's a coastal themed collection, you'll find lots of sea shells, ships, palm trees, tropical flowers, and map prints. It's grounded with wood grains and sprinkled with flowers. It really is just plain pretty.

The woodgrain paper was the perfect background for my bright blue photos. It also seemed to match the wood of the pier in my photo. For some more color, I framed the layout with a pop of pink map paper.

I clustered a bunch of the stickers from the collection sticker sheet all over the layout to add little spots to draw your eye. I finished up with some journaling and a few more stickers.

You can always find more inspiration using April's kit from me and lots of other talented designers on Scrapbooking Store's Facebook page

Travel Memories Layout

Today I have this Germany travel memories layout, which also happens to be the last layout in my Germany album.

I like to jot down some of the random things we see, hear, or notice when we travel somewhere. I then put those random things that don't fit with any other photos into a list on the last page of my scrapbook.

I also had a bunch of photos and wrappers of some of the fun candy and snacks we tried or brought back as treats for the kids. I put all of those on this last layout, too.

Thanks for coming along with me on this journey to scrap our trip to Germany. Now that it's done, I can start on the London trip we just got back from.
