Paradise Found Birthday Card

Last week was my sister's birthday. For her card I decided to mix in some bright summery paper to create this paradise found birthday card.

My sister has always liked flamingos. There are lots of super fun flamingos as part of Paper House's Paradise Found collection, so I decided to use it for my sister's birthday card. There are 3 parts to the Paradise Found collection; Florida, Cruise, and Beach. Everything I used for this card can be found in the Paradise Found Beach collection.

Since the paper is pretty bright on its own, I kept y layers simple. I uses My Favorite Things Die-namics Wonky Stitched Ovals Dies to cut the layers for my "happy birthday." After I added my greeting, I felt like the card needed a little something extra, so I added a flower puffy sticker from Paradise Found. I'm pretty sure Paper House's puffy stickers are my very favorite new thing. They're so much fun and add that extra touch to cards and layout.

I think this paradise found birthday card turned out bright and fun and shows that a beach themed collection can be great for birthday cards too!

School Photo Scrapping

I'm working on some school photo scrapping again. This time I have my youngest son's 3rd grade photo.

Since I take photos of my kids every year, I don't get too worried about school pictures. I let them pick out whatever shirt they want as long as it's clean and not too out there. My kid wanted to wear his shirt that's currently his favorite and it is this crazy shade of bright orange-y yellow, and the logo is bright blue. I could not believe that Jillibean Soup had paper that coordinated with his shirt...and it's school themed! Alphabet Soup II really made this layout come together.

I knew I also had to use the "Be Silly, Be Honest, Be Kind" tag. If that phrase doesn't sum up this goofy kid with a big heart, I don't know what does. Since the colors on this layout are pretty bright, I kept the lines of my layout pretty clean. The large photo also helps draw your eye. I don't use 5x7 photos too often, but in this case, I thought the larger size worked really well.

Just a few more photos and I'll be all caught up on my school photo scrapping. Do you like scrapping school photos?

Game Time Chip Wrap Free Printable

I received these Salt and Vinegar Veggie Chips free from Sensible Portions, but any opinions of the chips are my own.

It's that time in March where we will have the TV tuned to college basketball games, and there are multiple brackets filled out, and our conversations will center around more basketball. We have a blast watching March Madness, and I love adding a few little surprises to our game watching.

My 8 year old, who also happens to be the biggest sports fan in our family, is a huge fan of Sensible Portions' Garden Veggie Straws, so when they offered me the opportunity to try the Sea Salt & Vinegar Veggie Chips I jumped at the chance. We weren't disappointed! These are super tasty, vinegar-y not overpowering, and (according to my 10 year old) not vegetable-y (which is amazing since they are made with potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, and beets). These are available right now at select Kroger locations. Once you pick some up, head a little further down this post to grab your free Game Time Wrap Printable so you can make your own Game Time chips, too!

Getting these ready for basketball watching was super simple. I covered the chip can in a little patterned paper and created a "Game Time" printable to wrap around the can.

Just cut it out and attach it to your Veggie Chips container.

I used Glue Dots® Glue Lines to adhere everything to the Veggie Chip container. Since there's no drying tie with Glue Dots®, this whole project can be completed in under 10 minutes - that's shorter than half time at a basketball game! Will you be spending lots of time talking basketball during March, too?

I wrote this post while participating on the Glue Dots® Design Team.

Flag Football Layout

I love watching my kids play sports, but I can't say I love scrapping the photos. To start with, I don't take a lot of photos, because I get caught up in watching them play. I also have a hard time getting the right feel to my layouts. But...I've procrastinated scrapping my son's first season of flag football long enough, so here's my first flag football layout.

It was the first year our local rec flag football decided to participate in the NFL Play 60 program. It was so much fun! The kids were put on "NFL" teams and got jerseys from the teams as well.

My kids just happened to be on the Redskins, so I made sure to grab some of Echo Park's Football Mini Collection. Someone over there must have known my kids were going to need burgundy and gold football paper!

Since most football themed embellishments are brown, but this collection uses grey instead, I ended up cutting the paper apart and using those cutouts as embellishments.

Thanks to the right colored football collection, this flag football layout came together pretty easily! Do you like scrapping sports?

St. Patty's Day Card

It's March, and that means it's almost time for St. Patty's Day! I have a good bit of Irish blood in me, and I love sending a St. Patty's Day card our 2 out to the relatives who are responsible for my Irish heritage.

Half the fun every year is picking what St. Patty's or Irish themed collection to use. This year I decided to go with bright and whimsical with Doodlebug's Happy Go Lucky collection. While it's mostly shades of green, there are some fun rainbow pops (like the polka dot paper in the background of my card). And, who could resist those fun shamrocks. I love Doodlebug Doodle Pop stickers. I just happened to have a shamrock one on hand, so I used that to add dimension to my card.

I used a rub on from Moxxie for my sentiment. I liked how it blended in instead of becoming a focal point. I really wanted the eye to be drawn more to the Doodle Pop Sticker than the sentiment.

I don't always decorate the insides of my cards, but I felt like this one needed a little something. I used a simple cut out card from Happy Go Lucky to add a rainbow colored "Happy St. Pat's Day".

Do you make cards for St. Patty's Day or celebrate in any way? I love to hear your plans.
