Getting Lots Done with Sketch Support

I have a lot of crafts on my "to do" list right now, so I decided to spend the week tackling a few of them. I created 3 projects from sketches from the Sketch Support blog. If you haven't checked out Sketch Support, it's worth a look. There are lots of great sketches, and lots of creative projects base off of those sketches. I've mentioned my love for the Sketches for Scrapbooking books before, and the Sketch Support blog is an extension of those books.

This first project is based off of a Sketch Support 1-page sketch.


I picked up Jubilee by The Girls' Paperie at A Walk Down Memory Lane back at the end of April. I've been dying to use it. So glad I finally made the time! Those little flag stick pins are ridiculously fun, and I'm kind of in love with the pearl brads, too. I only started scrapbooking a few years ago, so it was a lot of fun to pull photos from my wedding (almost 7 years ago) and scrap them!

I've played around a little with Jillibean Soup's Spotted Owl Soup, but not nearly enough, so I decided to dive into my stash for this birthday boy layout.

Last but not least are a set of mini cards from a Sketch Support add-on sketch:



More Jillibean Soup Paper here, but this time it's Blossom Soup and Pasta Fagioli. I'm most in love with the cherries on these cards. The circle cherries are made from twine that I wound and glued down on top of a 3/4" circle. The puff ball cherries were also hand made from twine.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you are all having a blessed and safe Thanksgiving. I wanted to share a layout before I headed out the door for some family, food, and fun. This layout may be birthday themed, but it illustrates many of the things I'm thankful for on a daily basis. This layout is based on a card sketch by Allison Davis, and uses Fancy Pants It's Your Day paper.


I'm thankful for my paper crafting hobby. It relaxes me, and reminds me to stretch myself.


I'm thankful that every day I'm greeted by these sweet, goofy, mischievous faces.


I'm thankful God often reminds me to put down the mop, and enjoy my children's creativity.


I'm thankful for my husband who comes home from work and wants to hear all about Teddy's birthday celebration from overly excited children.

Why all the Fisk-a-love today? Well, last week Sunday Fiskateer Rebecca set up an on-line chat with Allison Davis (chats like this are just 1 of the reasons I love being a Fiskateer). Allison's written a bunch of really fantastic sketch books. During the chat Allison issued a sketch challenge, and here's what I came up with:
Now to talk about the products used. The only non-American Craft item here is was the Fiskars Upper Crest border punch that I used on the Bodacious Banana paper. Everything else is from American Craft's Heat Wave line. The bright, sunny colors went perfectly with my summer back yard pool pictures. Here's a run down of what I used:
Paper: Pretty Papaya, Maverick Mango, Bodacious Banana, and Creamy Coconut
Flair (you know, those great button shaped accents): Surfs Up and Day in the Sun
Details: Sandy (don't you just love that camera? I think it's my favorite accent on the whole page!)
Remarks: Surfboard (self-adhering chip board)
Beach House: Heat Wave (chip board accent)
