Disney Cruise Door Decor

It's not too long now before we head out on a Disney Cruise. Not only is my family going, but my parents' and my sister and her family, too. One of the fun thing about a Disney cruise is that people decorate their doors. Of course, I eagerly volunteered to create our Disney cruise door decor.

 

 We will be in 3 separate rooms (close by each other) so we wanted to have similar but different decorations for our doors. We thought it would be fun to make Mickey Mouse inspired heads representing everyone going along. I wanted to utilize my Silhouette Cameo to do the heavy lifting for me, so I found an Etsy store (Miss Addison's Closet) that had the cutest Disney inspired cut-able heads. 

After deciding on a theme for each of our doors, I cut the heads from card stock. Then I used my Cameo and Silhouette software to create a word sign that goes with the them for each door. We get Star Wars. 

My sister's family gets Snow White (I still need to make a Grumpy inspired mouse head for their door...but I couldn't wait to share what I have done). 

And my parents get pirate Mickey heads. 

Finally, I wanted one piece of door decor that would be the same for all of our doors, so each door gets one of these. The cruise ship is a cut file from the Silhouette store. Then, I created the words to go along with the ship.
We're getting pretty excited for our trip now!

Oak Grove

I have one last layout to share using My Mind's Eye's Cut & Paste (at least for now!).  I went on a little Cut & Paste scrapping binge, so today I'm sharing my Oak Grove layout.  

We went camping one weekend, and it was so windy!  We couldn't have a fire, so we got silly and started taking goofy pictures.  I have some wonderful ones from that night.  I thought I'd start with this one of my goofy boys. 

 

All of the paper is MME Cut & Paste.  The greenish washi tape is also My Mind's Eye.  That fun camera washi tape (which I owned for all of about 5 minutes before I found a reason to use it), is made by Queen & Co. 

I wanted a little something more on this layout so I traced all of the letters on the "Love U Forever" tag with a clear Wink Of Stella pen.  I use my Wink of Stella Pens a lot.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but they add some really lovely shimmer to your projects.

Baby Boy Cards Using Pebbles Special Delivery

I have to be honest; I love Pebbles new baby collection Special Delivery.  In fact, I love it so much, that I'm having a tough time figuring out where to start creating with it.  I have it all...all the papers, 6 x 6 pad, die cuts, stickers...all of it, and I love it all so very much that I keep trying to use it all at once. Have you ever had that problem with a collection? I decided to take a step back and start with something small.  I always need baby cards, so I decided to start with that.  Here are 2  baby boy cards using Pebbles Special Delivery that I created.
 

 Vellum is super trendy right now, and I think it goes so well with a baby card.  It just adds a nice soft touch.  I don't always like trying to find a way to hide the adhesive that I use to attach vellum, so I decided just to sew the vellum on this time. 

I had the idea that it might be interesting to clip a bunch of embellishments up in the corner of the card.  I picked a few and tried them out and rearranged a bit before adhering them in place. It's really a very simple card, but I like the way all the elements came together for a clean, soft baby card.

The second card came about when I had this little fox and the photo frame sitting next to each other.  I wondered what that little guy would look like sitting in the frame.  The answer was, he looks adorable, so I had to make another card built around him perched in the frame.  

 A few gold rub-ons from Pebbles and some gold star sequins from Queen and Co. finished off the look. 

Now I need to make some baby girl cards, so I have some of those in my stash, too!

For the Love of Cropping

I love a good crop. Whether it's on-line or in person, I just can't help but be motivated to get things done. This weekend there's was an impromptu crop over at the Fiskateers site. If you're a Fiskateer,  you should definitely head over and check it out. Challenges don't close until Wednesday night, so there's still time to play along. If you're saying "Fiska-what?" you should also head over and check out the Fiskateers. It's a free community of people who love all things Fiskars (and if you're a paper crafter, sewer, or gardener you definitely own at least one Fiskars scissors, paper trimmer, punch, or gardening tool!).  It's a really fun, creative and supportive group, and you won't be disappointed that you checked them out. I've been having fun working on a few of the crop challenges. Here's a spring layout I made using my favorite Fiskars Border Punch (which just happens to be Fiskars Upper Crest border punch. I used it as an accent on the left hand side of my photos):

 

I created this layout from some leftover paper I had from another project and some Washi Tape. I used black, blue, and yellow Washi Tape to create the pattern on the top part of the page. There's a lot you can do with Washi Tape, but one of my absolute favorite things is creating my own patterned paper with it. You can check out the chevron paper I made with it here if you didn't see that project when I posted it.

This background was created by placing 3 strips of the same tape next to each other on a diagonal, and then repeating with a new tape until the entire background was covered.

 

The  patterned paper and journaling tag are from My Mind's Eye's new On The Bright Side Collection. On the bright side is much like it sounds; a bright and bold collection, however it has surprising vintage touches to it as well.
