My 8 year old has been asking to color his hair green. He's a really good kid, and it so fits his personality, so we decided to let him. Truth be told, he loves it and so do I. Being a scrapbooker, I had to snap some photos of the process and make a haircut layout from them.
My kiddos have dark hair, so we had to go blond before he could go green. We had a good laugh about him looking like he should join a 90's boy band with the blond hair.
I recently added some Crate Paper Cool Kid to my stash. It was the perfect collection for my fun photos. The colors are rich but a bit muted, perfect for older boy layouts. There's some green in the papers, but not a lot. Just enough to coordinate with my photos while still keeping the focus on that bright pop of green hair.
I chose some denim alphabet stickers from We R Memory Keepers Denim Blues collection for the title. Since the alphabets are fabric, they can be a bit messy, but they have the righ tlook for this layout.
His hair will only be green for about 6 more weeks, but this fun haircut layout will help keep the memory forever. Some day he'll have the pictures to prove to his grandkids that he had green hare once! What's the craziest thing you've let one of your kids do?

Classroom Halloween Favors
Halloween is less then a week, so I figured I'd better finish up my son's classroom Halloween favors. He wanted to take some tic-tac-boo cards to play with Hershey's Kisses. Here's what I came up with for him.
I created the tic-tac-boo cards in Silhouette Studio. Then, when I was ready, I could use the print and cut feature on the Cameo to print and cut the game boards. I created 2 different boards, one with an owl and pumpkins and one with ghosts and a spider. Each board is about 4" x 5".
I printed labels (Avery makes 3/4" circle sticker labels that are the perfect size for Hershey's Kisses) that had matching icons on them. Each bag got 5 each of 2 different designs for a total of 10 Kisses per bag (you really only need 9 kisses per bag, but I included an extra one to make things even).
With the help of my Cameo, these classroom Halloween favors were super fun to make. I hope the kids have as much fun playing with them (and eating them) as I did creating them!

Fall Bible Journaling
It's the time of year for warm colors and falling leaves. I wanted to capture this season of gratitude with a bit of Bible journaling. You can find more photos and all of the details over on the SRM Blog, but here's a sneak peek:

Happy Autumn Layout
I don't know about you, but we've been enjoying some amazing fall weather, which allows for a lot of autumn fun. Today I have a Happy Autumn layout showcasing my son's pumpkin pick this year.
For this fall layout, I chose Pebbles Woodland Forrest Collection. You can never go wrong with a collection by Pebbles Inc. Their collections always have a bit of a whimsical feel without being overly cutesy. My favorite print is that plaid...but I always love a good plaid.
The pumpkin silhouette was cut with my Silhouette cameo. The "love" is a sticker from Pebbles Warm & Cozy collection. In person, it's a lovely matte metallic gold.
Going to pick out pumpkins is one of my favorite fall activities, so I hope it'll be a long time before the get too old for it!
I hope you're having a fantastic autumn!

Football Sign
One of my favorite things about fall is that it's football season! I decided to make a faith and football sign so anyone who walks into our home knows where our loyalties lie.
For those who aren't football fans, the Green Bay Packer's colors are green and gold, but their throwback uniform colors are navy and gold. I made one sign in the standard colors for my son's teacher (who happens to be a big Packer's fan too) and one in the throwback colors for our house, since the blue goes better in my living room.
Despite the different colors, I created both signs the same way. I painted the wood with yellow paint. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the words I wanted from SRM Vinyl (the color of the vinyl doesn't matter). I used SRM transfer tape to place the letters on my painted board. Then, I painted the entire thing again, but in blue (or green) this time. When the paint had dried, I removed the vinyl and sanded the edges a bit to allow some of the yellow to pop through on the edges.
Do you love football season? What team would be on your football sign?

Halloween Lunch Box Notes
Welcome to your next stop on the Glue Dots/Card Maker blog hop. If you just happened along my post today, you can start at the beginning of the blog hop by starting at the Card Maker blog. For this hop I'm sharing one of my very favorite things to create: lunch box notes. The ones I have today are, of course, Halloween lunch box notes.
I like to put the question part of the joke on a top flap of paper. I then attach that piece of paper with a Glue Dots® Glue Line over a piece of paper with the punch line to the joke on it. That way they can read the joke and then lift the flap for the answer.
I used some Pop Up Dots® to add the not too spooky characters to the cards. Using Pop Up Dots® helps add a little more interest to the notes.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my Halloween Lunch Box Notes. You can keep up with what's happening on Taylor Stamped by following me on Facebook and Instagram.

My boys love getting silly joke notes in their lunch box, so I try to make different ones for them throughout the school year. I put these lunch box notes together with Doodlebug Boos & Brews
(such a cute Halloween collection!), and Craft Glue Dots®, Glue Lines,
and Pop Up Glue Dots®.

Pumpkin Patch Layout
Fall is here, and that means I get to break out the fall papers for scrapping! We have a favorite pumpkin patch, so today I have a layout of my son getting his pumpkin for this year.
There are always so many great fall themed paper collections to choose from every year. I think it's one of my favorite seasons for paper! For this layout I decided to grab Pebbles Warm and Cozy collection to start.
I cut a pumpkin shape from my patterned paper with the Silhouette Cameo and layered it over a matching piece of orange American Crafts card stock. I used more matching card stock to mat my photo. For embellishments I used a little but of everything from my stash. There are some stickers from SRM's Live Life Calendar Year and Calendar Companion, Phrase Stickers from Pebbles Woodland Forest collection, and even a sticker from Imaginisce's Give Thanks. I cut the title with my Silhouette Cameo. The Journaling card came from We R Memory Keeper's Indian Summer collection.
I think this pumpkin patch layout does a pretty good job of capturing the fun of our favorite pumpkin place. What's your favorite fall collection this year?

Gamer Birthday Layout
I feel like I've been doing a lot of paper crafting lately, but not a lot of scrapping, so I've decided to carve out a little time to get some layouts done. Up first is a layout from my son's 10th Birthday party. Here's my finished Gamer Birthday Layout.
My son requested a video game themed birthday party. You can find some of the decorations I made for the party here. We make the cake every year, too. I tend to do any baking, all over frosting, and sculpting out of fondant. My husband does any detail/drawing/fancy piping work with frosting. This year he also carved the cake into the shape of a video game controller for me.
When I saw the video game controller paper in Bella Blvd's new Alex collection, I knew exactly what I was going to use to scrap our photos from the party. I really like the bright colors and fun prints in this collection. Just look at that great blue/black plaid! It's so fun.
As my boys get older, I'm finding it a bit harder to find just the right paper collection for their photos. Alex is a great collection for when your boys are out of that little boy age, and you need some boy paper that's a little more mature.
I hope you're finding some time to get some scrapping done, too and that you enjoyed this gamer birthday layout.

Emboss Resist Bible Journaling Background
I've been thinking about trying and emboss resist Bible journaling background for a while. Emboss resist has always been one of my favorite techniques, but I wasn't sure if it would work out okay. I recently had a Bible study on Psalm 90:12 (Teach us to number our days), and it seemed like just the right time to try out heat embossing in my Bible.
I wanted to create a number background to go with my verse. I don't have a big number background stamp, so I created my own from the numbers in the SRM Today, Tomorrow, To Do stamp set. I stamped the numbers with Versamark ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. It was a little tough to get into the center of the Bible, but otherwise It wasn't that much harder than heat embossing on a card. To get the extra embossing powder off of the page (before heat embossing) I just held the page straight up and encouraged the embossing powder to fall into the center crack of my Bible. From there, I just funneled the powder back into the embossing powder container.
After I heat embossed my numbers, I finished my background by sponging on some Distress Ink.
I try to push myself a bit when it come to picking color combos for Bible journaling. This one's a little different for me, but I absolutely love the way these 4 colors blend together. In case you can't see them well, they are: Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, and Mermaid Lagoon.
I finished up my page by using some Marvy pens to add the verse to the margin. I also added a few heart stickers.
I'm going to call this emboss resist Bible journaling background a success. Now that I know I can do it (and that it's pretty easy!) I will definitely be using it more in my Bible journaling. Have you done any stamping or heat embossing in your Bible?
