Sometimes you go on vacation and are determined to catch a really big fish. Sometimes you catch said fish, and freak out! Then you take a picture of yourself kissing that fish while wearing a pink and orange top. Sometimes all the stars align and Doodlebug makes the most perfect paper collection called Happy Camper that has adorable fish and matches your shirt, so you must make a fishing layout.
As soon as I saw those cute Doodle Pop fish, I knew I had to use them, the great matching paper was just a bonus.
I also added some Simple Stories DIY Insta Stickers to my photos. They're are both black and white stickers in the pack, so there's always one that works. They're quickly becoming some of my favorite go to embellishments.

Halloween Folio
Are you ready for Halloween? We don't go trick or treating until Halloween, but every year I have my kiddos try on their costumes a head of time, and we do a little mini photo shoot then (that way I don't have to try to get them to stand still for pictures when they're all hopped up on sugar). I still take some photos of them when they're trick or treating, but I don't take nearly as many. As an added bonus, I can get a jump start on my Halloween mini album. This year I'm using the small Tim Holtz folio to do a Halloween Folio.
I decided to use Simple Stories Frankie & Friends for the paper and embellishments for my folio.
Not only is Frankie and Friends adorable, it goes well with the kraft color of the folio, so I can work with the craft, and not have to cover every inch of the folio with patterned paper.
The folio folds open like this. This book is so easily customizable. There are 2 flaps that fold up on the right hand side.
Underneath that is folded area that will hold the photos I take on Halloween. The fan folded area comes unattached from the album, so you can easily add photos and embellish it before attaching it to the album. The picture below shows what I mean a little better.
After Friday, I'll finish adding photos and embellish a bit more, but it's nice to be more than halfway done with my Halloween Folio mini album before we ever even go trick or treating.

First Night In The Camper
This past spring we bought a camper. It was a big deal, as was our first outing in it. Of course I just had to snap a photo of our first night in the camper, and when I found Doodlebug's Happy Camper at A Walk Down Memory Lane, I knew I had found the perfect paper for my photo.
First, this photo was taken when my kiddos were wired because they got to spend a weekend camping. Second, this was taken inside a camper, at night. Those things put together don't make for a very pretty or interesting photo, but the memory was so special I wanted to scrap it. When I have photos that aren't so great, I tend to lean toward using brighter, more fun paper. Over the top fun paper mixed with a not so great photo makes for a much more dynamic layout.
And really, could anything be more perfect for this nighttime layout that fun star paper and cool Doodle Pop moon sticker?
Well, maybe this simply adorable camper sticker. I actually grabbed the camper sticker before I even looked at the paper! I just knew I had to have it. After framing out the photo with my patterned papers, I added a library pocket for my journaling about our first night in the camper, and finished it up with a title and the cute Doodle Pop embellishments.

Fireworks
I still have a few more 4th of July layouts to share. Every year we get all dressed up, get on the boat, and go watch fireworks. This year was no different.
I grabbed Pebbles Americana again. This time I used a mix of the 12 x 12 paper and the 6 x 6 paper pad papers. Sometimes it's nice to have the smaller version of pattern to use on your layout (like the 6 x 6 Star Spangled Banner paper).
I have to be honest, when I saw the Americana 4th of July Paper (that's the one with all the fireworks on it that I used for the base of my layout), I figured I'd be using the back side. It's a bit busy for my usual style, but when I started this fireworks layout, it seemed to be the perfect fit. Just goes to show, sometimes the unexpected is just right.
Love, love, love the Americana glitter alphas, too. I happen to have them in all 3 colors, because you can never have too many glitter alphas.

Rock Stand
I recently won a paper crafting kit from 3 Birds. I was expecting it to be cool, but when I opened my package, I totally fell in love with the collection. I immediately went through my photos to figure out which one I needed to print for this paper collection. I found this photo of my kids at their rock stand and knew I had a winner!
I know most kids set up a lemonade stand, but my boys and their best friend (and next door neighbor) decided to make a rock stand. They packaged up rocks, loaded them into the back of their Gator, made a sign, and opened up shop where our yard meets up with the neighbor's yard. It was pretty cute. I just had to grab a photo of their first non-family member customer.
I wanted to make sure I captured the whole story, so I created a journaling card from one of the card bases included in the kit.
Embellishing was really, really easy, since the kit was full of awesome layered stickers and chipboard shapes. The hardest part was exercising some discretion and not using all of the embellishments!

Halloween Monster Boxes
It's time for Moxxie's monthly blog hop. Since it's October the theme for this month's hop is Halloween. For my project, I created a couple of Halloween Monster Boxes.
For these not too scary monsters, I used Moxxie Papers from Autumn Glory, Volleyball, and Racing, Moxxie Alphas in black, red, and white, We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board, American Crafts Knock out Border Punch, and a 1" circle punch.
These boxes are little 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" boxes. Perfect for a simple little Halloween treat.
I created Frankenstein, from Autumn glory, since the slightly modeled green just seemed to fit for skin color. After border punching a strip of black racing paper, I attached it around the top of the box to make Frank's hair. White o's with black centers, make the eyes, an uppercase black W makes the mouth, and I topped everything off with a black Z for a scar.
Dracula was made in a similar fashion to Frankenstein. I used a sheet of gray paper from Volleyball, and used a circle punch to create the cutouts in his hair. His eyes are red and white o's with black periods in the center. His mouth is a uppercase C with the ends clipped off, and the teeth are the bottoms of a W.
Thanks for popping by my blog. Don't forget to keep hopping for your chance at the awesome prize up for grabs! Your choice of Zombie Attack or Autumn Glory!

Sparklers
Sometimes I scrap out of season. Lately my 4th of July photos have been calling to me, so I've been busy scrapping those with Pebbles Americana collection. Today I have my Sparklers layout to share.
My parents found these fun sparklers that looked like broadswords. Not only did they look cool, but as a mom, I liked the fact that the fire, sparkler part was nice and far away from the handle end.
There wasn't even a question as to what collection I would use for my 4th of July photos. Pebbles does an awesome American/4th of July themed collection every year, and Americana is no exception. I love the rustic look and patriotic themes that run through this whole collection.

Aquarium Fun Layout
Last week I got to go along on my son's field trip with him. We went to the local butterfly house, which also has an aquarium. I created this 2 page Aquarium Fun Layout about the aquarium section of the field trip.
We just got Bo Bunny Double Dot, Wild Card, and Souvenir in at A Walk Down Memory Lane, and some how I managed to use all three collections on this layout. Truth be told, you'll probably see Double Dot showing up a lot, since it comes in an array of beautiful colors. I love a simple, all over pattern for the bases of my layouts, and Double Dot definitely fits the bill.
Something else you'll be seeing pop up a lot in my layouts? The Simple Stories Insta Clear Stickers. You get a ton of them in 1 pack, and they have both black and white stickers in the same pack, so there always seems to be just the right sticker in there.
Finally, I have to talk about how much I love these alphas. I love them so much I have them in both gold and silver. They're so stinkin' fun!
Want to see another layout using the same mix of Bo Bunny papers? I'm over at the AWDML blog today with a single page layout using these papers and some really cool film strip stickers. Here's a sneak of what you'll find over there.
Have a great weekend!
