17 Years Anniversary Layout

Every year my husband and I take at least one photo when we're celebrating our anniversary. Then, I scrap those photos and put them in a book just for our anniversary celebrations. I love the idea of having a book that I can look back through the years really quickly. Today I have our 17 Years anniversary layout.

Some years we celebrate big, some years we go small - this year we just happened to be at our place in the Black Hills over our anniversary. It was a really laid back but super fun way to celebrate. We went out to eat at one of our favorite places in Deadwood (with the kids), went exploring with the ATV's and side-by-side, and went for a hike on our property with the dogs.

For this layout I went diving into my Paper House stash. I had a piece of this new Pink Floral/Stripes patterned paper that I hadn't used yet, and thought it might be pretty. I also thought it just might work with the Greenery patterned paper if I could find just the right piece of paper to tie them both together. Enter the white wood grain Beach -Tags patterned paper for that job. It has a hint of blue-grey to it that worked well with both floral papers and worked nicely as a base to ground everything.

I used tags from Rose Garden Tags patterned paper for embellishments and as a journaling tag.

I finished up with a variety of stickers in different textures to add some dimension to my layout. I used Be Yourself 3D Stickers, HP Moment Makers Love Clear Stickers, and Everyday Moments Puffy Stickers.

Mt. Rushmore Scrapbooking Layout

I have a second layout using the June Kit from Scrapbooking Store. It's another Mt. Rushmore Scrapbooking Layout.

There are a lot of ways to view Mt. Rushmore from a bunch of different angles. I put a few of my favorite views from our walk around the park all in one layout.

I used embellishments from both the main kit (there is always a sticker sheet included in the kit) and the Embellishment Upgrade Kit. The embellishment upgrade this month is a fun mix of ephemera and shaped stickers.

I really love the prints in this collection. I love the classic red, white, and blue with a bit of aqua mixed in. They all really pop against the white backgrounds.

If you want more inspiration with this kit, check out my blog post from last week, and you can always find more on Scrapbooking Store's Facebook page

Rushmore Selfie Scrapbook Layout

It's June, which means a brand new kit from Scrapbooking Store. Today I have  Rushmore Selfie Scrapbook Layout to share featuring this month's kit.

This month's kit has everything you need to prepare for the 4th of July. It features papers and stickers from Echo Park America. As you can probably tell it includes lots of red, white, and blue and patriotic symbols.

While it's great for Independence Day scrapping, I decided that this kit would also be fantastic for scrapping photos that we took at Mt. Rushmore a few summers ago. The Upgraded Embellishment Kit includes some patriotic ephemera from Pebbles Inc that really adds to the versatility of the main kit.

For something a little different, I decided to use the gold US ephemera as a journaling tag. Because the tag has a shiny finish, you need to use a marker for slick surfaces. My favorite markers for that task are American Crafts Slick Writers. They come in fine, medium, and wide tips and in a variety of colors.

I'll be back next week with another layout from this kit, and you can always find more on Scrapbooking Store's Facebook page

Hiking Layout

I'm back with more Great Outdoors layouts. Last time it was a one page layout, this week I have a 2 page hiking layout to share.

We spent about 3 hours hiking around, exploring, and finding all the boundaries of our new property. I took a few pictures along the way and thought it would be nice to fit all of my favorites onto one - two page layout.

Once again, I reached for Paper House Great Outdoors for scrapping my outdoor hiking style photos. Our property is full of pine trees, so I thought it would be fun to use the green and white pine tree paper for the background.

Great Outdoors has a lot of embellishments to choose from, so I leaned into the tree and hiking themes and chose woodgrains, trees, and hiking themed object for my embellishments.

Lighthouse Layout

This past March I got to go on vacation with just my youngest. It was fun to spend some time traveling with just the two of us. While Dad and Older Brother were out west snowmobiling, we headed east to the beach for some sun and sea. Here's a lighthouse layout from that trip.

A family rule of thumb is to climb everything you can possibly climb. The view is always worth it! Our first day at Hilton Head Island, we headed to the iconic red and white lighthouse and made the climb to take in the views.

I knew that Paper House Discover USA collection had some great nautical/coastal themed papers. The blues in the collection really made the red in my photos pop. Paper House also has stickers dedicated to different states. Being able to use South Carolina themed stickers really helped personalize the layout. I also used a HHI sticker that the merchants were handing out when you made a purchase at a store.

Happy Day Cards

Today I have a set of Happy Day cards. I made these for Mother's Day, but they could just as easily be used for a birthday or congratulations card.

This is another set of cards where I tried to use just card stock, stickers, and die cuts. Both of these cards were made with  planner stickers and die cuts from Mommy Lhey.

I love a clean and simple looking card. I added a little extra detail by layering white card stock on top of itself and adding a little de-bossed border around the whole card as well. I really liked the girl with the umbrella, so I started with her and picked other embellishments that coordinated to build out the card.

The gold foil accents on these embellishments are really the star of this card. To ground the "happy day" sentiment, I layered 3 washi tape looking stickers behind the sentiment.

I hope you have a happy day, too!

Hideaway Layout

We recently bought land in the Black Hills (South Dakota). After everything finally went through, we made a quick trip out as a family to our property. We had to stop and take a picture with the road sign in the background. This is my Hideaway Layout from that photo.

Paper House Great Outdoors will always be one of my favorite collections. It's just the perfect collection for scrapping wilderness, hiking, fishing, hunting, or camping photos. There are tons of fun patterned papers full of deep, earthy colors.

There are also a ton of coordinating embellishments (like card stock stickers, 3D stickers, enamel stickers, puffy stickers, stick on pockets, and epoxy clips to name just a few) that you can use the collection over and over again and create completely different looking layouts each time.

With our new property, I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of layouts featuring Great Outdoors.
