Class on Saturday

Hi everyone! I know I've been so blog negligent lately, and for that I apologize. For my local readers, I just wanted to let you know I'll be teaching my annual Holiday Stack of Cards class this Saturday. The class is filling up fast, so if you'd like to attend, here are the details:

Saturday, November 5, 10 am - 12:30 pm
Spend a few hours getting your holiday cards done. You will make 15 cards (5 each of 3 different cards). Everything will be cut for you, all you need to do is stamp, emboss, die cut, or letterpress and assemble. Experienced card makers can choose to do a double class (you must let us know ahead of time if you'd like this option) and complete 10 each of 3 different cards.
Bring lots of your favorite adhesive for assembling cards.

The picture above is one of  the cards for the class. What I love about this class is that you get a lot of cards made AND you'll hopefully learn something new. The card above uses a great technique for adding glitter to a diecut (that silver die-cut is completely covered in glitter that doesn't shed very much at all). One of the cards is letterpressed, and the other focuses on stamping.

Lots of Fun Classes

Lately it feels like I've been spending most of my free time working on projects for my upcoming classes. I just finished up my samples for a Masculine Card Class I will be teaching on Saturday, November 7. So many people find it hard to make cards for the men in their lives, so this is a class dedicated to those hard to make cards. What's fun about this class is that it also focuses on specific tricks and techniques that people may not have tried before. For example, the card I'm going to show you today is from that class and focuses on a fun bleaching technique.As you can see, I don't believe masculine cards need to be all tools, cars, and dirt (though some of my man cards definitely do fall under that category). They can just be lovely elements put together in a way that hints at masculinity. Happy Sunday?

It's been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me the past few days. Lots of good news, and some not so great stuff too. Some of the good news I'll share with you all later this week, and some I'll share later in this post. Some of the bad? Well, I've got a couple of sick little boys. Not only do I feel bad for them, but it kept us from a few of our fun weekend plans. My oldest just started Sunday school a few weeks ago, and he was pretty bummed that he couldn't go today.
Now, some of the good. Yesterday I got a chance to have an in depth meeting with Lisa, the owner at A Walk Down Memory Lane, and we were able to get my upcoming class schedule worked out in detail. Pretty exciting! We've got some awesome classes planned. Below is a picture of what I will be doing next Saturday, which just happens to be World Card Making Day as well.This is a box that is filled with 6 awesome cards that also match the box. The box and cards use a few sheets of card stock, but only 1 sheet of patterned paper! For those of you who live in the area, A Walk Down Memory Lane's class schedule can be found here.
