Dog Sign

I have something a little fun. It's been a while since I've made a home decor project for my blog. I've had the supplies for this project for months, but I finally got around to making this dog sign this past week.

We are definitely dog people. We especially love our basset, Kevin.

He's pretty goofy, and he just turned 1. The house definitely needed a sign to commemorate him.

The sign base is from Jillibean Soup Mix the Media. I used my Silhouette to cut the blue paw shaped words. The cut file also happens to be from Jillibean Soup. There was a lot of weeding, but the final result was totally worth it.

The wood basset hound was something I found on Etsy. I stained it with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink and attached it to the sign with some Pop Up Glue Dots®. This sign is now hanging on the wall in my living room, and I love it!

Simple Birthday Cards

Today I have some very simple birthday cards to share. These are my go to style for when I want a clean and simple card.

I use my silhouette to cut the top panel. I size a rectangle to 4" x 5 1/4". Then, I use any font on my computer to create the happy birthday cut inside the rectangle. Then, I cut it out. You can get 4 card fronts from one 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.

These cards happen to be for my nephews, who are teen boys, so I stuck with fairly simple colors and patterns for my patterned paper. The beauty of these cards is that you can use up scraps from your stash for the patterned paper part.

I like to attach my patterned paper flat to the card base. Then I use dimensional adhesive (my favorite is Pop Up Glue Dots®), to attach the card front to the card. The popped up top layer adds some extra pizazz to the card. These cards sit flat enough to be mailed without any extra postage.

Valentine's Day Decor

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so today I have a bit of Valentine's Day decor to share.

This past month at Creativation, Glue Dots® debuted a new product: Glue Dots Adhesive Sheets for die cutting. I've been having a lot of fun playing around with them. There are a ton of fun uses for them. They work beautifully with my Silhouette Cameo and my manual die cutting machine!

Just peel the paper backing of the adhesive sheet.

Place it on the paper you've chosen to cut, and run through your die cutting machine.

Peel the liner off.

If you peel slowly, the liner will do most of the weeding for you (which is my favorite thing about the new adhesive sheets).

I added my die cut heart and a die cut phrase to a simple Mix the Media frame from Jillibean Soup to create my Valentine's Day decor.

Quick Mini Cards

If you're like me quick crafts are about all you have time for this time of year.  That's why I have a set of quick mini cards to share today. I'm using them in my teacher gifts, but the 3 3/4" square size makes them perfect for just about anything.

I used papers and stickers from the December Scrapbooking Store kit. I loved everything about this kit. The papers in it are a great mix of traditional and modern Christmas colors.

Fun fact, a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" card fits perfectly inside one of Amazon's square gift card gift boxes. It doesn't get much easier than an Amazon gift card in a pretty box with a quick hand made mini card for a teacher gift (or a gift for a friend or family member).

To keep these looking a bit more interesting (simple doesn't have to mean plain), I used a lot of Pop-Up Glue Dots. The dimensional adhesive gives a layered look to the cards, even though there aren't any paper layers.

I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing Christmas!

Glory to God Christmas Decor

It's December, which means there's a new kit out for the Scrapbooking Store. I love the collection of Christmas papers they put together for this kit. I have lots of plans for it, but today I'm starting with this Glory to God Christmas decor.

I created a simple printable of Luke 2:14. Then I printed it out on one of the more solid colored papers from the December kit. I layered on top of a more bold patterned paper, and then attacked it to a wood sign. You can download the printable for yourself here.

I used gold star rub-ons from the kit upgrade to add a little extra sparkle to the printable. I used Craft Glue Dots® to hold it all together. I know the stick will last so I can use this home decor piece for years to come.

Creating home decor pieces for Christmas is one of my very favorite things to do, and this one was so simple!

I received the Scrapbooking Store December Kit for free but all of the projects and opinions are my own.

Glue Dots and Paper House Productions and a Giveaway

This week is a pretty fun week for me. Glue Dots and Paper House Productions have teamed up together, and since I design for both of them, it's double the fun for me! I have 2 layouts to share and I have my very own give away since these 2 companies are some of my very favorite for crafting.

For Glue Dots® I created this layout about how my husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary. It features Paper House's Color Wash collection and some of their awesome Faux Enamel stickers. The layout is based off the following sketch.

You can find out all the details (and specific Glue Dots® and Paper House products I used) on the Glue Dots® blog.

For Paper House, I reached for my one of my favorite collections for scrapping sports: All Star. In one paper pad, you get papers and stickers to scrap basketball, football, soccer, and baseball!

To keep everything together, I used Glue Dots Premium Glue Tape and Pop Up Glue Dots.

Now for the giveaway. I have a Marbelous Paper Pad and matching stickers from Paper House and from Glue Dots I have an assortment of my favorite dots and a tape runner. Entering is simple, just leave me a comment here on this blog post, and you're entered. If you'd like extra entries, just pop on over to my Facebook Page and/or my Instagram and find my giveaway post, leave a comment, and you'll get another entry. It's that simple. I'll announce the winner next week.

I hope you enjoy this week of Glue Dots and Paper House as much as I do!

Autumn Card with Glue Dots and Pretty Pink Posh

Hello! Welcome to your next stop on this very fun collaboration with Glue Dots and Pretty Pink Posh! Today I have an autumn card with Glue Dots and Pretty Pink Posh to share.

Glue Dots® products used: Pop Up Glue Dots® and Permanent Glue Tape®.
Pretty Pink Posh products used: Autumn Blooms Stamp Set, Autumn Blooms Dies, and Happy Owls.

Autumn Blooms is a versatile set that can be used for lots of seasons. To keep that autumn feel, I went with some greens, teal blues, deep purples, and rich oranges for my color palette.

Glue Dots® Premium Glue Tape is my go to adhesive for putting cards together. I used Pop Up Glue Dots® to add some dimension to my "congrats" panel.

Sunshine and Rainbows Card

After using Pink & Main's Sunshine die and stamp set to create a layout, I wanted to also use it to create a card. I created this sunshine and rainbows card for my niece's birthday.

I used Pink & Main's Rainbow 6x6 paper pad since it seems to match so perfectly with the Sunshine die and stamp set.

Glue Dots Premium Glue Tape® is my adhesive of choice for flat scrapping. I also used some Pop Up Glue Dots® to add a little dimension to the white panel on my card.

The orange polk-a-dot paper overlaid over the multicolor polk-a-dot paper photographs a bit funky, but in person, it's a great combo! I really do love mixing and matching patterned papers.

You Are My Sunshine Layout

This week Glue Dots® has teamed up with Pink & Main for a blog hop. My You Are My Sunshine layout is just one of many projects to spark your creativity along the way and, of course, there are fun prizes!

While I love the combination of stamps, dies, and Glue Dots® for creating cards, I thought I'd try something a little different and create a layout.

I used Pink & Main's Rainbow 6x6 paper pad to create the border, center square, and photo frame for my layout. Then I used their Sunshine stamp set and matching die to create the "you are my sunshine" embellishment.

For any flat paper on paper scrapping I love to use Glue Dots Premium Glue Tape®. For adding some dimension to my layout (like I did with the photo and sunshine die cut), I always grab for my Pop Up Glue Dots®
