My kids have gone back to school, and this year I have 2 of them who eat lunch at school. I thought it would be fun to make some little cards to slip in their lunchboxes to let them know I'm thinking about them. I have 2 different styles of cards since I have one kiddo who can read, and one who's just beginning to learn.
All of my cards measure 3" x 4". The cards for my beginner reader are simple messages spelled out with Thickers and paper shapes. Since my kiddos are boys, I also had to make sure there wasn't a hint of pink, purple, or anything "girly" here. Instead of ribbons and bling, I used border punches, washi tape, and foam adhesive to add dimension.
For my reader, I upped the fun factor with joke cards.
Don't let the lift the flap fool you, these are super easy to put together.
Just score the question piece about 1/8" - 1/4" from the top. Place the adhesive on the back side of the small scored area, and attach it to your lunchbox card over the answer piece.
You can even add a little extra note to the back of your cards if you like.
The Giveaway:
Thanks for checking out my project today! I've also got a giveaway generously furnished by Pebbles! Up for grabs is a selection of Pebbles Basics paper (like the stuff I used to create my cards), 2 sets of Thickers, Clothespins, Chips Tags and washi tape (colors may vary)!
To enter, all you need to do is leave me a comment about anything. Tell me your favorite (kid friendly) joke, introduce yourself, tell me if you've ever made lunchbox cards...anything you'd like, just make sure to leave a comment! The giveaway will be open until 11:59 pm central time on Friday, September 6, so be sure to come back Saturday to see if you're the winner (and to check out another fun Pebbles project).
Here's a little eye candy and links to all the other stops so you can keep on hopping and have chances to win giveaways on the other designers' blogs (and don't forget to comment on Pebbles blog for a chance at the grand prize!):

They are super cute!!!
These are fabulous!! A perfect little note for a lunch box!!
What a sweet mom you are to leave such adorable notes in your kids' lunchboxes! On April Fool's Day I once put a rock in my kindergartner's lunch and told her I was giving her an extra special treat. I was not a very popular mom that day....
Super cute idea. My kids start back to school this week, so I may have to whip up some little lunchbox cards for them today!!

Super cute idea! Thanks for the chance to win!
What a cute idea! I don't have children, but I could see leaving these little notes around for my hubs. How fun!
These are so fun! I've never made lunch box cards but now I really want to! My (5 year old) daughter's favourite jokes are:
Where do fish keep their money? A river bank!
What's brown and sticky? A stick!
What did the hat say to the tie? You hang around and I'll go on a head!
Hee hee. Thanks for the chance to win! x
Super sweet idea! I usually just slip a surprise into my kid's lunches. For field trips, I would have them decorate their lunch bags. They always seemed to enjoy that and it was an easy way to tell which one was theirs!
This project is awesome! My youngest is now in 6th grade, and I have a very limited time before lunch box notes are still "cool". TFS your fun ideas with the Basics line!
Thanks for the chance to win!
I've never made a lunchbox card, but what a cute idea! Love yours!
These are super cute, so sweet to include jokes!!
These are really cute! I will slip notes in my daughter's lunchbox, but I've never thought to include jokes. I bet she would love it too, I'm definitely going to try this!

What a fun set of cards. I love all the chevron. Beautifully done. I havent made any notes yet for my kiddos. But soon I will as soon as we get settled into out new house. ok. So you want a joke. Here it is: Want to hear a dirty joke??? A boy fell in the mud. Want to hear a clean joke? He took a bath. LOL My dad use to say this to me when I was little. Corny I know but still cute.

How fun! I put little notes in my daughters lunch a looooong time ago. They certainly weren't as creative as yours though.
Cute cards ! I have been known to put a note or two in a lunch box. Need to get going on that this year again. It's my last chance.
VERY cute cards! My son just started kindergarten last week and I did a card on the first day of school but I'd like to make it at least a weekly thing. These are great ideas that I'm likely to case! :)
What fun! Great idea!
Those cards are so cute and I love the jokes!
Cute, cute, cute! I've always put notes in my kids lunches but never cute ones, just boring notepaper. My oldest daughter has saved every note that she's ever been given. Lol! Thank you for the inspiration, and the chance to win. Take care. :)
