Time to Climb 2 Page Travel Layout

It's been a bit since I worked on my Germany trip album. Initially, I was hoping to have it done in one year. Now we're 2 years out and I'm about 2/3 of the way done. Honestly, I just wasn't feeling inspired for a bit, so it sat in time out. I'm finally excited about working on it a bit again, so today I have this Time to Climb 2 Page Travel Layout.

When we travel we climb everything we can. The hike up is always worth seeing the city from a bird's eye view. While I've already scrapped a few selfies from the top of this climb, I also wanted to document the climb to and view from the top.

For this layout, I used the Be Happy Paper Pad from Paper House as my starting point. All of the patterned papers, the journaling tag, and many of the stickers (including the alphas) are from the paper pad. The mix of pale pinks, black, and pops of gold make a really beautiful background for just about any picture, but I especially love how the colors make the rooftop colors in my photos pop.

I supplemented my embellishments with a few word stickers I had in my stash. I especially love how the mint and gold stickers add a little extra color to layout.

It feels good to be scrapping my Germany photos again...who knows, maybe I'll finish the book this year!

Basketball Thank You Cards

I seem to be on a bit of a card making kick these days. Last week I needed some thank you cards to give to my sons' basketball coaches. Here's what I came up with.

I kept my supply list for this very simple: White card stock, two pieces of patterned paper from Paper House (Basketballs Double Sided Paper and Soccer Tags Double Sided Paper), Paper House Sports Planner Stickers, and my Silhouette Cameo.

I cut all 4 of my card fronts at the same time with my Cameo. When cutting out a greeting, I like to use a scripted font that connects. It's also helpful to pick a font that doesn't have too many centers that you'll need to add back in (For example the "a" and "o" on the card on the left don't connect at the top completely, so they get left behind. The card on the right looks just fine with the centers to the "a" and "o" missing.).

Since the basketball themed paper has a lot of detail to it all on its own, I kept my embellishments simple. A few stickers from the Paper House Sports Planner Stickers book were all I needed.

Spring Butterfly Cards

As promised, I have another set of cards using the March kit from Scrapbooking Store. Here are my Spring Butterfly Cards.

For this set of cards, I wanted to focus on the embellishments included in the March kit upgrade. I actually picked out the embellishments I wanted to use first (the shaker cupcake and the layered orange flower) and then picked papers from the kit that complimented the embellishments.

I feel like the cupcake makes a perfect birthday card, so I added a sticker that said "Celebrate Today!" I finished up the card with a butterfly sticker and a layered flower sticker with the label "happy" on it.

For my "hello" card, I chose the orange plaid paper to compliment the orange flower I picked out for the focal point. I didn't have a good greeting in the kit that I wanted to use, so I used a hello embellishment from last month's (February) kit.

Beautiful Day Cards

The start of March means warmer weather and a new kit from Scrapbooking Store. This month I used the kit to create both layouts and cards. Up first to share with you I have a pair of Beautiful Day Cards.

March's kit features patterned papers and a sticker sheet from Echo Park I Love Spring. As its name might hint at, it's a bright and cheery spring kit full of spring-y blues, shades of pink, and pops of yellow. Lots of flowers, umbrellas, butterflies, and rain boots take center stage in this collection.

What really makes March's kit for me, though are the optional embellishment upgrades. There are these cool shaker embellishments (the flowers above and the cake below) that add so much texture and dimension to these cards. They absolutely transform this kit for me.

Using the same sentiment (one in sticker form ad one in journaling tag form), I created one card that's perfect for a wedding and one card that could be used for a wedding, bridal shower, or birthday.

I'll be back next week with another pair of cards from this kit, and you can always find more on Scrapbooking Store's Facebook page

Baby Cards

I feel like life seems to go in waves. Lots of graduations, or weddings, or babies all at once. Right now we are in a baby wave, so I've been making lots of baby cards.

Paper House has these fun little mini cards. While you can use them just as they are, I like to re-purpose them as a focal point on larger cards.

Many of them have foil or glitter accents on them (the card above has foil stars, and the "Hello Baby" card has a little bit of glitter over the whole card).

These baby mini cards pair really well with the paper and stickers from the Hello Baby collection, but would also look great with Marbellous or Colorwash.

Using one of the mini cards as a starting point makes for really fast card assembly, too. You just choose some patterned papers that match with it, and add a few stickers to give it some dimension. I find that puffy stickers are especially cute on baby cards.

What kind of cards have you been making a lot of lately?

Good Times Scrapbooking Layout

Today I have another layout with Scrapbooking Store February kit. This Good Times scrapbooking layout is layout 2 of 4.

Whenever we visit my parents in the summer, we like to go to Charlie's Drive-In for root beer floats and cheese curds. This year we finally thought to take a photo in front of it.

I thought the red and black prints in this collection would work with the colors in my photos and with the drive-in theme. There's even an ice cream sticker on the sticker sheet in the collection. The black "Good Times" sticker is an extra one I had from the December kit, it just happened to work really well with this layout.

Good Vibes Scrapbooking Layout

It's February, which means a new kit from Scrapbooking Store. So far, I've created 4 layouts with this kit. Today I'm sharing my Good Vibes scrapbooking layout.

This month's kit features papers and stickers from Kate and Ash by Simple Stories. While the themes found in this kit are geared towards girl (especially tween and teen) scrapbook pages, with a little bit of creativity this kit can be very versatile.

You'll find lots of hearts and positive affirmations in this kit. With those themes, I thought it might be time to scrap the photos from my son's endoscopy a few years ago. It wasn't a great time for him, but the procedure went well and gave us some answers. I think the different heart papers and embellishments from the kit convey the feelings pretty well.

I really love the saturated colors in this kit and the pops of black throughout. I'll be back next week with another layout from this kit, and you can always find more on Scrapbooking Store's Facebook page
