Taking Some time to Stamp

It's been a long time since I sat down with some stamps just for fun. Lately it seems like I've only been using my stamps for greetings on cards. Since stamping is what originally introduced me to the world of paper crafting, it seems a bit of a shame that I've been neglecting my stamps. Moxie Fab World has a Stamp It! challenge, and it just felt right to play along. I've got a card and a tag today.

Lawn Fawn is hands down one of my favorite stamp companies. It's a good thing I have at least a little self control, or I would own every one of their stamp sets. This adorable bike is from a set called Cruising Through Life. I'm a Copic novice, but I LOVE coloring on kraft card stock with my Copics.
I stamped the "hi" greeting on another one of my faves, stick pin flags. The paper, flags, and flower brads are all from The Girls' Paperie Jubilee collection.

I've made a very similar tag to this before. However, this time I just had to try out covering that pear with my new Glitter Ritz warm highlights glitter. Gotta love a glitter that doesn't rub off easily.

The background is a tag, covered in ripped and layered masking tape. I sponged brown ink onto the tape, stamped it with a Glitz Designs word background stamp, and then sealed the whole thing with a thick coat of Glossy Glaze. When that was dry I stamped "We make a fine Pear" with staz-on ink directly onto the tag. The pear was stamped, colored in, covered in glitter, cut out, and adhered to the tag. The pear stamp is from Mark's Finest Papers.

It was fun to get a little inky, but tomorrow I'm going to switch things up with some cards made using SRM Stickers.

I loved playing with all of the sets this month, but Cupcake Birthday may have been the most fun. At least it gave me the excuse to bake some really yummy cupcakes!
These were so easy to make. I just punched out a few shapes from MFP's card stock, stamped, colored, and glued onto tooth picks.

Mark's Finest June Blog Hop Day 3

Can you believe it's already day 3 of Mark's Finest Papers 4 day June release blog hop!?! The feature stamp set today is More of Speedy the Cat's Friends.
I thought I'd make a treat pouch with today's set. The pouch is made from one sheet of cardstock that is stamped on both sides. You can find the directions here on Splitcoast. The dog on the front of the pouch was stamped, cut out, and attached. What puppy wouldn't love getting this?
Just in case you missed it, here's what I created last week with this adorable set:

Today's beautiful release is Pears and Hollyhock:
I saw that pear, and just knew I had to cover it in glitter. Perhaps I was thinking of sugared fruit at the time. To achieve this look just stamp the image, color it in, and cut it out. Then, cover the pear in your favorite glitter adhesive, and add fine glitter. I attached the pear to the card with foam dimensional adhesive to give the card some depth. You can click here to see what I created with this pretty set last week.

Now it's time to get hopping!

Mark's Finest June Blog Hop Day 1

Today is day 1 of 4 for Mark's Finest Papers June release blog hop, and since I'm a guest designer this month (yeah!!!) I get to join in the fun (double yeah!!!). All 4 sets are available TODAY! and we'll be showing off one of those sets per day for the next 4 days. For your chance to win BLOG CANDY, visit and comment on each of the following design team members' blogs on June 8, 9, 10 and 11t, 2010. On Saturday (June 12, 2010) a winner will be chosen FOR EACH DAY from those participants who visited all the blogs listed for that day! (4 different winners, one winner for each day.) (THAT MEANS IF YOU MISSED A DAY, YOU STILL HAVE OTHER CHANCES TO WIN! And, you can go back and comment, as the winners will be chosen Saturday morning!)The 4 Winners will be announced on the Mark's Finest Papers Blog on June 12, 2010. Each winner will receive 1 Stamp Set that will be released NEXT month!

The first stamp set in the line up is Believe in You:
I wanted to showcase a few things with this card. First up is the beautiful ribbon. It comes in so many colors you're bound to fall in love with it. There's no trick to creating these flowers, I just pleated a few times, added a stitch to hold it in place, and then repeated the process until it was the size I wanted. I also had to display MFP's great charms. Instead of tying these charms on, I used some super strong liquid glue and adhered them to the underside of the center flower. To create the background of the card, I used a technique called emboss resist. I stamped the images from "Believe in You" in brown pigment ink, added some clear embossing powder, heat embossed, and then sponged on some yellow and pink ink.
I posted this card on my blog last week. Just a little sneak peak using Believe in You. If you want to see more of the details on this card click here to go to last week's sneak peak post.

Now it's time to join in the fun. Head on over to the other designers' blogs to see what great projects they've created, and don't forget to stop back tomorrow for an all new release and chance to win.

Get hopping!

Mark's Finest Papers

So this month I have the honor of guest designing for a great paper and stamp company called Mark's Finest Papers. On June 8th they will release 4 new stamp sets, have a blog hop, and officially announce me as guest designer. But, just because I like all of you so much, I'm giving you a sneak peak of this month's releases. There are 4 stamp sets, and I have 1 card created with each one. When you come back next week for the blog hop I'll have 4 new projects for you to check out as well.

Up first is my favorite of the sets:This set is seriously delish. Ok, so here's where I admit that I can be a little weird at times. I love working with kraft as a neutral, but I'm really picky about what kraft paper I use. I was over the moon when I got this kraft paper from MFP. The color is perfect, and it even has little flecks of color throughout it that make it look like linen. Love it!

Up next is a card that showcases the beautiful ribbons I received along with one of the new stamp sets:The shades of blue these ribbons come in make me giddy!

Now I've got another kraft colored card:I water colored the flowers with watercolor pencils to add a pop of purple and green to the card.

Finally I created a card to send to the vets who took such good care of our dog (and us) during his last days:The patterned paper is from Basic Gray's Max and Whiskers 6x6 paper stack, which you can also find at MFP.

Everything on today's blog (papers, card stock, stamps) can be found at Mark's Finest Papers. You won't be disappointed with the quality of these stamps, these are some of the best clear stamps I've used. I got a clean, crisp image every time, even when using pigment ink! I hope you'll join me next week for the June release blog hop, I've saved my favorite projects for then. In the mean time, you can check out Mark's Finest Papers' blog by clicking here.
