2 Page Travel Layout

I've got one last group of night photos from our stay in Rothenburg, Germany. For this set I did a 2 page travel layout.

I journaled about our night tour of Rothenburg on a previous page, so this 2 page layout is all about the photos. I used the travel collection from Paper Phenomenon again. I just love how well it works with night time photos. The colors in the collection just seem to match the mood of the dark photos. I have a collection pack that only has 1 of each patterned paper, so it was a bit of a challenge to make a 2 page layout that is cohesive.

To make the pages blend, I made sure to use similar, coordinating papers on both sides. I especially used the rose color to add cohesiveness. I also used a bit of coordinating washi tape on both sides of the layout. Finally I added some black word embellishments to tie both sides together.

Overall, I kept this 2 page travel layout pretty clean and simple.

Night Watchman Layout

I'm continuing to work on some travel scrapbooking. Today is a layout with some photos taken during at night. I hope you enjoy my Night Watchman layout.

My husband and I love seeing a city at night, so when I read about this Night Watchman tour in Rothenburg Germany, I knew we had to do it. The tour only lasts about an hour and gives you some important bits of history about the town while walking through the city, out the city gate, and around the walls. It also helped that the Night Watchman himself was super funny (in all the best dad joke type ways).

I chose some paper from Paper Phenomenon. I liked that the vintage feel of the papers went well with my nighttime photos. I added a pop of pink and chose embellishments with some gold foiling to brighten things up a bit.

This layout only needed a little bit of journaling to tell the story, so I chose a 2"x2" journaling card from my stash (I believe it's from an old Simple Stories collection). I can never have enough journaling cards, so I keep an entire box of them on hand.

I hope your March is getting off to a creative start, too!

Food Layout

I don't take a lot of photos of the food we eat...with one big exception. Whenever we are traveling, especially internationally, I photograph just about everything we eat. Today I have a food layout from when we were traveling.

I have an amazing husband, but it's not too often he thinks to take a picture of me. It's and even more strange to have a picture of me from somewhere and not him. I love having this picture of me that he took. This was our first meal in Germany, and it was a delicious meal of lieberkase...which you can probably tell, because I ate half of it before remembering to grab a photo.

I used a travel collection from Paper Phenomenon, but I also had to add that great beer glass faux enamel sticker from Paper House. It's been a really fun collection to work with. It's full of dark, rich, saturated color.

A food layout from a food photo completed for my Germany album!

Romantik Hotel Rothenburg 2 Page Layout

I'm on a roll; blogging two weeks in a row! Today I have a 2 page layout from our stay at the Romantik Hotel Rothenburg.

This 2 page layout is a little bit different. Instead of using the same papers on both halves of the layout, I used coordinating papers (from the same collection) and coordinating embellishments. For example, I chose a flower embellishment for the left page that coordinates with the floral paper I used on the right page. For the left page I used a vintage camera print paper and for the right page I used a vintage film strip patterned paper.
The photos on the left page are from the interior of our hotel common areas while the photos on the right page are from our hotel room.

The papers are again from Paper Phenomenon's Flight 2715 kit. There are a few additional random travel themed stickers from my stash.

I do have to say how incredible the Romantik Hotel Markstrum in Rothenburg Germany was. It has been providing shelter to travelers for more than 500 years. No room is the same, in fact, we got to pick our room from 3 available rooms. So fun! The hotel is unique, the location was great, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the views from our window were spectacular.

Wood Grain Travel Layout

I don't know why it's so hard to get into my scrap room in the summer. I always say we're laid back busy in the summer - we do a lot, but it's a lot of flexible fun with less scheduling. I did make a concerted effort to get in my craft room this weekend, so today I have a wood grain travel layout to share.

Somehow I hadn't heard of Paper Phenomenon until I stumbled across their Flight 2715 kit when I was looking for travel themed papers. I fell in love with it right away. It's pretty and romantic with a hint of vintage.

These photos are of the outside of our first hotel in Germany. It was a gorgeous hotel in a fantastic location. The perfect place to start our trip!

I love how Flight 2715 picks up the pinks and creams from my photos and really makes them pop. The romantic feel of the collection is perfect for the old world Bavarian style buildings. Don't you just love it when you find the perfect papers for your photos?!
