The Post I've Been So Excited to Share

Last week I received a little news that I've been so excited to share...

I am honored to be a part of the 2013 - 2014 Pebbles Inc. Design Team.  I can't wait to share everything I love about Pebbles Inc. here with you and with fans of Pebbles on their blog. There are some seriously talented ladies in this group, so if you're looking for some great crafty inspiration, I encourage you to check out all of their blogs.

Pebbles 2013-2014 Design Team

In the mean time, while I'm waiting for my official first assignment (!!!), here's a layout I created this weekend using Pebbles Lakeside.

Having spent some time at the lake recently, this collection was a perfect fit for me!

Have a great week!

Happy Campers and Outdoor Adventures

It's definitely the time of year for scrapping lots of outdoor/woodsy/camping photos.  Okay, I don't actually camp, but we go to my parent's lake house, which has a nice woodsy feel, and we make s'mores and do woodsy things.  Close enough, right? Imaginisce has a collection called Outdoor Adventure. I love it's s'mores paper (and the dirt bike/ATV paper, but that's a post for another day).

I layered up a few of the other outdoor adventure papers on top of the s'mores one. I sneaked in a chipboard sticker from We R Memory Keepers, and some washi tape from them as well (because, can you ever really have enough washi tape?).  It still needed a little something so I added these fun stick pins from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Being wood, you can stain these pins any color you want, but the natural color fit my layout perfectly.

Now I have one less vacation memory to scrap, and one more to enjoy when I'm paging through my albums.

Boys at Play

I have a mini album to share today that was hanging out at A Walk Down Memory Lane  for some time. It came home with me the other week, so I'm finally getting around to posting it here.

I used Pebbles Inc. Love You More 4 x 6 Journaling cards to make a 4 x 6 mini album.

I cut a 4" strip of patterned paper (from Pebbles Basics) and folded it every 1/4" until I had enough folds to act as my book binding.  From there it was easy, I just inserted the journaling cards into the binding in the order I wanted them. Finally, I added photos and embellishments.

So next time you see a cute collection of journaling cards...think mini album!

Color Challenge

If you follow my blog, you know that Glue Dots® did a blog hop with Lindy's Stamp Gang at the beginning of July.  For that blog hop, I got to play around with lots of Lindy's beautiful mists. I fell in love, and started regularly following their blog.  They have a new monthly color challenge, and I thought it would be fun to play along with July's challenge.

This month's challenge included red, white and 2 shades of blue.  I figured that was the perfect color combo to pair with Little Yellow Bicycle's Vintage Summer collection and our photos from this year's 4th of July fireworks.  I had a canvas album from Little Yellow Bicycle that I thought would be fun to mist.

I used Lindy's Flat Fabio mist (that meas they are all the color, without the shimmer) in Danny Zuko's Denim (blue), and Rizzo's Rowdy Red.  As a side note, I didn't have a mask that I thought would work for the cover, so I cut one myself with my Silhouette machine and an old piece of patterned paper.  The up side is you can customize the mask to just the right size, shape, and style. The down side is you can use it for the one project, and then you have to throw it away.  This is the mask before I misted over it.

I was able to use it on the front and back covers of the album before having to throw it away.

Now that I've show you the covers, here's everything in between.  Every single paper, embellishment, sticker, etc. is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Vintage Summer or Naturals collections.

Love Lindy's Stamp Gang products too? Good news, you still have (a little) time to play along with their challenge. They're also having a Design Team call right now. If you're a big fan, consider trying out to be on the Lindy's DT.

Vintage Summer

I'm kind of in love with Little Yellow Bicycle's Vintage Summer Collection. It's perfect for my 4th of July photos (I'll post a mini album I'm working on soon), and great for all other sorts of summer photos too. Here's a 2 page layout I did with Vintage Summer:

Besides gorgeous papers, this line has so many amazing embellishments. I'm not really a banner girl, but even I fell in love with the great canvas banner that goes with this collection.

...and of course, you've seen the "5 things" pockets show up often in my layouts and albums. I love these clever little ways to record memories.

A Perfect Summer

This might be one of my favorite layouts from this summer.

I love running and playing with my kiddos in the backyard during summer. It always amazes me how simple things like water balloons and sprinklers can provide hours of entertainment.
Jillibean Soup has come out with some really fun Die Cut Papers.  They come in either white or kraft, and they come in 4 different patterns.  I scooped up a couple different ones when they came into A Walk Down Memory Lane.  My plan with this frames one was to break it up (it's perforated in between frames) and use it on a few different layouts, but instead the stars aligned and I had just the right photos to use it as one whole sheet.

I paired the die cut with Echo Park's A Perfect Summer collection.

Ah summer...it's just so much fun!
